New Bike Park Construction Alert
Construction is underway on a 45-acre bike park at Shirley Clarke Franklin Park that will feature 2.25 miles of mountain bike trails for various skill levels. More information on the park and project status can be found here. Instagram users Ceoxdrone and Beltlinejohn have some pretty great shots/views of the park.
Bicycle Trail Connections Outreach Alert
The Atlanta Regional Commission wants your input for their Riding Forward initiative, which aims to help strengthen trail and bicycling facility connections across metro Atlanta. Find out more information here or stop by their booth at any of the following festivals/events:
Happy Days Weekend, Hapeville (Saturday, Sept. 19)
Atlanta Streets Alive (Sunday, Sept. 27)
Covington Fall Festival (Saturday, Oct 17)
Newnan Market Day (Saturday, Nov. 7)
New Bike Lane Alert
As part of ATL Dot’s South Boulevard Safe Street Project, they have repaved and striped new bike lanes on Boulevard SE from the BeltLine all the way to McDonough Blvd. Be sure to watch out for the drainage grates facing the wrong way in the bike lane that will eat your tire! If you check out the new lanes be sure to stop by one of our favorite spots, Red’s Beer Garden. In addition to being a cool venue and great people, they also host a series of local events, including some for the cycling community.

MWR ATL and Saddle Up ATL are not responsible for any ride other than our own. Ride at your own risk. While we endeavor to provide accurate information, be sure to double-check all ride socials for any updates and details on the required skill level.
