Dragon Con has descended upon Atlanta and yours truly is out and about amongst the glorious, nerdy chaos. While we won’t be getting in any rides this weekend we will be happily cheering on the Atlanta Courier Collective and the riders participating in the 10th Annual Dragon Cat. This is a point based sort-of-scavenger-hunt on bikes with a 2 hour time limit. It is free to enter and watch (no Dragon Con badge needed!) so catch the action at 2PM, Saturday, 09/05 at the Marquis One Tower Steps.

SEP 10 Atlanta Beltline is breaking ground on the Northwest Trail - Segment 3B, a one-mile section extending from Northside Drive to Tanyard Creek Park. This segment will connect to the completed Northside Trail and improve connectivity for the Ardmore, Berkeley Park, Brookwood, Collier Hills, and Loring Heights neighborhoods. SEPT 15 Ever been on a bike route that suddenly stops and leaves you either riding with fast traffic or disconnected from other paths? Propel ATL is looking to fix that! They are hosting a bike & roll network meeting and need people who know Atlanta’s streets. They are putting together a proposed network of 8-10 routes connecting Atlanta’s core and the BeltLine to destinations near the Perimeter. You can find out more about it and register here.

SEP 8 - 22 The Atlanta e-bike rebate program is back! From Tuesday, Sept. 8 to Tuesday, Sept. 22, City of Atlanta residents can apply online with the Atlanta Regional Commission for a chance to receive up to $1,600 toward an e-bike in a lottery process.

Devin Cowens, founder of the Atlanta chapter of RAR (Radical Adventure Riders), opened up a bike shop in the CreateATL space in March 2026. 

RAR Bike Shop offers full repair and maintenance services, cycling gear and accessories, and merchandise. Beyond retail, they host workshops and classes in a judgment-free environment, and are home to a bike camping education station and gear library where community members can borrow camping gear for little to no cost. The shop is open to everyone and all are welcome. The shop intentionally creates a space that centers marginalized identities and a wide population of riders.

They’ve just launched bike rentals and will start hosting shop rides every other Tuesday night beginning on October 6th.
